→ NO ADDITIONAL TECHNOLOGY

Fabrizio Sartori is a Roman artist working with different expressive means: painting, drawing, performance and lately with embroidery.
The meeting today is divided into three phases, a first moment in which we will try some techniques of breathing, at a later time we will come into contact with the matter and a final moment that will bring the traces of this experience.
Before we get started, let’s read a short text that Fabrizio sent us by mail

“My artistic exploration follows the narrative of inner searching. Connecting with one’s ‘self’ is the initial step toward shaping what did not exist before. I would like to dedicate this brief workshop/performance to the theme of encounter, small gestures, and words. These are, in fact, the elements that guide me through the artistic experience, and it seems intriguing to share them beneath a grand olive tree, in the open air, and without any additional technology.

Primarily, I work with painting, but over the years, I have felt the need to delve deeper into the materials that make up paintings. I have started composing works with cuttings from different canvases, weaving, sewing, and embroidering on leftover fabrics and various types of patches. The fragility and perishability inherent in fabric seem more interesting to me than durability and solidity. Over the years, I have also worked in this direction with performance, engaging in meeting groups and shared actions in public spaces as channels for reflecting on and developing themes suggested in dialogue with the context.

In this gathering, we will explore together some breathing techniques and exercises based on the circle’s concept and contact with materials, searching for new expressive possibilities.”
