Agricultural farm of Giuseppina Pisciotta Tosini
Vanessa Cardui
is located in the countryside of Collesano, Sicily
We produce olive oil, fruit, vegetables, strelitzias, and promotes artistic expressions inspired by nature and biodiversity.
The cultivation activities, as well as the artistic actions, are carried out in respect of the environment and in line with a broad vision of sustainability.
We cultivate harmony

The farm hosts a family of donkeys: Serafina and Gelsomino with their "kids" Totò and Lola
With their presence, they contribute to achieving the goal of bringing as close as possible those who wish to experience the life and activities offered by the agricultural farm, in conditions of happiness.
Why Venessa Cardui?
A name that tells a story
Vanessa Cardui is a migratory butterfly that feeds and reproduces on the milk thistle. Immediately after becoming a butterfly, it begins its long journey north, reaching the lowlands of Great Britain, traveling thousands of kilometers and carrying with it the traces of its land of origin.
Lightness that connects
Although so small and ephemeral, it manages to weave a rich network of relationships with the living and non-living forms it encounters along its journey.
An ecosystem of ideas
We wanted to name our Artist Residency project Vanessa Cardui because, with the same lightness as this butterfly, we wish to spread and share the ideas, thoughts, dialogues, and actions that will be born and developed in this small ecosystem rich in biodiversity.
Culture in flight
The projects will spread a culture capable of capturing the simple actions and inactions of other living species, in order to point towards and lead a simpler and happier existence, in harmony with nature.

Productions
Throughout the entire agricultural year, the farm offers seasonal fruit and vegetable productions.

Artist Residencies
A place of dialogue between art and nature, with meetings and artist residency projects conceived by Giuseppina Pisciotta Tosini and curated by Maria Rosa Sossai.

Hospitality in nature
The farm welcomes guests for short stays in two cozy rural cottages, nestled in the tranquility of nature.
